J.Crew Visual Merchandiser

From Spring/Summer to Fall/Winter of 2012 I worked from the early hours of the AM to late in the day with my visual team to create visual display masterpieces. We would follow the corporate visual book and substitute new looks if necessary, yet always sticking with the main theme and color scheme. Over the course of this job I developed an extreme attention to detail. For instance, my manager would point out how the sleeves and pants were to be rolled, not in a perfect way but a more laid back manner. Every inch of garments on display had to be steamed to pristine yet still maintain that natural wrinkle. I learned to love layering as much merchandise as possible to showcase what we have to offer, and how to wear it in the J.Crew style. The layering and color combinations together are what lend the displays a lot of personality and texture making it more visually pleasing to the customers. Not only did I do visuals, but I also had the opportunity to work with processing shipments and building shelves and shoe walls to always keep the store looking new and fresh for customers.
